A Buyer-Ready Checklist Before Sending Drawings
Structure your RFQ so engineering can review manufacturability, material, finish, quantity and inspection needs with fewer clarification cycles.
Must-have RFQ inputs
Include these with the first submission so manufacturability review can start without a clarification loop.
-
Drawings
PDF with revision control, plus STEP, STP, IGES or DWG when available. ZIP is fine for multi-file sets.
-
Material and finish
Grade, temper or condition, plus plating, passivation, anodizing, heat treatment and masking callouts.
-
Quantity plan
Prototype or pilot quantity, first release and estimated annual volume for process planning.
-
Critical tolerances
Datums, threads, bores, concentricity, cosmetic faces and assembly-critical features marked on the print.
-
Application context
Industry, mating parts, environment and packaging needs. Optional, but it speeds route selection.
-
Inspection needs
FAI, dimensional reports, material certificates or other release documents required by your quality system.
Use the live form when drawings, material, quantity and inspection notes are ready.
